Project summary

The BOOST4BIOEAST (B4B) project – a continuation and extension of the successful BIOEASTsUP – is based on the BIOEAST 2030 goals. The overall objective of BOOST4BIOEAST is to enhance the participation of national stakeholder networks in the development of national bioeconomy action plans, and to set-up long-lasting structures for cooperation and networking. The effective implementation of the project will be the steppingstone to achieve the BIOEAST Initiative’s main objective to develop knowledge and cooperation based circular and sustainable bioeconomies in Central and Eastern Europe in support of the European Green Deal. The consortium is envisaging six objectives: (1) To boost the active participation of all stakeholder networks in bioeconomy policy development, based on their specific economic, societal, and environmental priorities and to guarantee a substantial engagement through the national BIOEAST HUBs, (2) To co-develop and improve inclusive national bioeconomy Action Plans and programmes, (3) To identify the possibilities of increasing the national investment in research, innovation, and development and in education related to the bioeconomy, fostering multi-actor approach and cooperation across the macro-region, (4) To enrich and enhance bioeconomy-related knowledge in the macro-region by assessing educational needs, bioeconomy competences, biomass availability and innovation systems and expanding the network of BIOEAST UniNet to support bioeconomy development, (5) To contribute to the European Research Area by promoting a single, borderless market for research, innovation, and technology across the BIOEAST macro-region, (6) To develop and launch a Knowledge Platform incorporating available bioeconomy-related knowledge on the BIOEAST macro-region to support networking and sharing of information.
