Between 16 and 18 November 2023, the Agroecology Europe Forum 2023 was held in Gyöngyös, Hungary. The international conference was attended by about 300 farmers, researchers, representatives of NGOs, project experts and other interested parties from 34 countries.
The diverse programme of the Forum covered a wide range of agro-economic, social and environmental topics, such as soil health management, self-organised local food systems, under-utilised crops, innovative farming practices, long-term European research cooperation, the dissemination of agro-ecological knowledge and climate policy.
Eszter Takács representing the Climate and Environment Research Department of AKI presented the results of an AKI’s 2022 survey among Hungarian farmers in a short presentation entitled “Environmental attitudes and motivations of farmers – Behavioural and economic drivers and barriers to green change in agriculture” for the participants of the “Multi-level policy initiatives to reshape the CAP” session.
