The Soil-X-Change project, together with the national CAP network, held the first EIP Operational Group meeting on 14 June 2024. Four Hungarian EIP AGRI Operational Group coordinators, who have experience in leading multiple groups, attended the event. Gábor Király, the project leader of the Soil-X-Change initiative, first outlined the advantages of the project for practitioners who are interested in sustainable soil management. These include knowledge sharing on soil health and related management practices through national and international examples, as well as the development of a national community for practitioners who are interested in improving and maintaining soil health through exchange events.
After introducing their projects, the coordinators shared their perspectives on how to further tailor this innovation tool to the needs of end-users. Adding to that, Lívia Kránitz from the Innovation and Digitisation Support Unit (ITU) presented the details of the upcoming EIP calls and underlined that this recently launched unit will provide assistance to the Operational Groups in the future to ensure that their findings are disseminated to the broadest possible audience.
The network building work of the Soil-X-Change project will continue in autumn 2024 with the second in-person workshop!
